* Fashionista Monday (3) *Besides being the winner of the first BRIDES Operation Dream Dress contest, who is Amy Wong Micucci (a special last name) and what she does?
Amy Wong Micucci established her own brand name, Swoon, for bridesmaid dresses. Her inspiration came from THE SUN, SAND, & STARS; ready for a morning ceremony at shore or an evening of dancing al fresco. The signature of Swoon is contemporary, fashionable, flattering styles, tightly edited palette of colors, affordable (always less than $300), and last but not least, it will be a dress you will want to wear again and again after the wedding.

Back in February, the editors of BRIDES magazine invited fashionistas and newbie designers alike to create a dress that embodied the theme of "Visionary Romance". Amy Wong Micucci's goddess gown made the cut!
Check out the November/December issue of BRIDES to see Amy's dress on the cover. The winning dress will be manufactured exclusively by David's Bridal, and it is available for a limited time only (Running from size 0 to 16, priced at $550.00 - very affordable!).
I visited David's Bridal newest branch in Sixth Avenue Manhattan with a friend of mine last Saturday and I saw a bride-to-be put on this gown. She looks absolutely stunning, the dress is simply elegant and beautiful, suitable for almost all body shapes (be it a petite or plus size bride). And, not forget to mention the beautiful fabric-floral at the sash. This is what define being stylish and gorgeous without breaking the bank! Groom will like this. Hmm...at least my future husband will love this concept ^.*

So what do you think about this dress? Is it very similar to one of Vera Wang's Spring 2009 collections we posted a few minutes ago?
If you are a bride who is planning on a budget, you can just grab this gorgeous dress from David's Bridal by paying 80-85% less than a Vera Wang gown for the similar look. Of course, if you can afford a Vera Wang gown, go for it without hesitation (it happens only once in a lifetime, anyway)
^.* Be a smart bride! Choose something that you are comfortable with; not only the shape of the dress, but also the price tag. There are many more ways to make your wedding day a memorable and unique one. We will tell you how in more postings to come. Stay tune at Yours Moment.

Vera Wang is one of the wedding gown designers that I like. She is a well-known fashion designer based in New York. Her design comes with sophisticated constructions and yet it is as light as a feather. She sends her brides to the party without carrying a fifty-pound wedding gown!
Here is what I recently found and I find it interesting to share with you. This show the evolving process of Vera Wang's bridal collection. An empire-waist strapless gown has been transforming from simple to sophisticated Grecian-style throughout the years. (Found this when I review all of her collections in Brides.com during the weekend.)
Take a close look at Vera Wang's Spring 2009 Collection Grecian strapless dress, the design is somewhat similar to what I am going to post next {The 1st Brides Operation Dream Dress} winning dress ^.*
